Factors
as per age, skin texture, visual acuity disorder, emotional
problems, etc., may leave as a consequence signs on the
eyelids area. Thus, when you are examined by the plastic
surgeon a deep analysis is made to intervene only in areas
that may benefit from the surgery.
The palpebras (eyelids) plastic surgery corrects the fat
excess and muscular flaccidity and can in some cases, improve
the functional expression besides the esthetics. There is
not an ideal age but the ideal opportunity. Such opportunity
is determined by the presence of disorder to be corrected.
Given that eyelids skin is so thin, scars tend to be disguised
by the sulcus of the skin. Local anesthesia is normally
applied. General anesthesia is very rarely used. The latter
is done in cases where blefaroplasty is being made in parallel
to other surgeries. The result is undoubtedly worth it as
in many cases the apparent ageing starts with changes in
the eyelids and patients feel younger after the surgery.
